Well what do we think ?

Driving for Mercedes/Brawn with NIco Rosberg - we’ll have a plethora of F1 stars visiting next door in 2010 I suspect.

Mind you I raced against Rosberg on the Silverstone circuit myself last year ..........albeit in miniature on a Scalextric track !

He beat me but my colleague pipped him at the post and he didn’t like coming second !

OK, so we may have plethora of GP stars across the river in 2010.  Are we going to invite them over for a visit and a photo opportunity for the Museum?  Well??

I mean, imagine it for pete’s sake; Michael Schumacher visits Brooklands Museum!  Newsworthy?  Maybe a picture or three:- Schu in Concorde!  Schu next to the Napier-Railton.  Schu outside the Clubhouse.

Come on guys!!  Why not?

It would be an excellent opportunity but I don’t seem to remember Hamilton et al wandering across the river last year !

I’m sure the Museum Director will be looking into it when he gets back from down under.

How about Schuy & Rosberg at the Pendle Slot Car Festival - I can have another go at beating him !

Here’s the pic with me & Rosberg (the other two are my MGCC colleague and the Oris Watches bloke ). My colleague actually beat him on the track but he was not a great loser - which is to be expected I guess . (My mate is still dining out on that story !)

We do need to have a go at getting them in. quite apart from the publicity I am sure most of the F1 grid would be interested in having a look round at what life was like on the track in the 20s-30s. Listening to a few of the interviews at Goodwood there is a genuine interest. I would suggest go for the low profile privite invite for lunch in the clubhouse trip up test hill track tour etc then go for the publicity after. Many I am sure would be grateful for a bit of time not mobbed by millions of fans.
