Handily I was at Brooklands last night for the Richard Noble talk and that coincided with the VImy being Brough across from MBW. Firstly the tail section had to be removed (just four bolts and a few wires !) before the front fuselage complete with wings as loaded on to a long low loader. To avoid rush hour it was driven along Wellington Way and in through the Heights where the fencing had already been removed for Military Vehicle day arriving just in time for the start of the Bloodhound talk !
At the end of the evening the Vimy was in the Wellington Hangar and ready to be unloaded. One heart stopping moment later after it slightly teetered off one of the ramps and the Vimy was finally at rest in its new home.
The Pic shows it on the low loader in the Hanger about to be unloaded.
