The Museum is hoping to fly a Piper Cub into the new Air Strip at MBW in the next few days to test out its suitability for aircraft take off and landing. Hopefully this will herald the way for some fly ins next year ! So if you’re local keep an eye out for it.

Still hasn’t happened yet due to paperwork !

Also due to an Oak tree growing at the edge of the strip which was removed today by an interesting bit of equipment .

Unfortunately I missed them moving it but below are pics of the equipment arriving I spotted out of the office window ....the place where the treee was and where it is now !  Lets hope it survives the trauma !

1) The hole now filled in with the air strip in the foreground and MBW in the background

2) The tree in it’s new position !

3) The strange bit of tree moving kit on its way to the tree (sorry its a biut fuzzy but I took it quickly through the window !)

There’s a funfair on it !

Once that’s gone at the end of the week the Cub shoud be able to fly in swiftly followed by the Vimy the following week after one more bit of red tape is tied up.
