Today saw the official press launch of the brand new fundraising initiative….Banking on Brooklands.

Under the scheme you can take custodianship of a square yard of the Brooklands banking which are available in three price ranges from top to bottom of the banking…. £150, £125 and £95.

Museum Director Allan Winn introduced the new initiative . He was followed by the webstie deginers and Richard Noble OBE. Finally James May was introduced and a certificate was presetned to him by Richard Noble for the very first square yard of track purchased. Following this the guests were led out to the track where the Napier Railton was waiting along with other Museum exhibits. BTM committee Member Julian Grimwade gave James May, Richard Noble and Tiff Needell a lift to the banking in his Bentley where they posed for phototgraphs very near the sqaure yard that James now has custody of .

I am about to visit a friend in the Middle East who is very interested in classic cars.  As a present, I would like to buy him a square on Brooklands.  I have a couple of questions, which I hope someone can help me with:

1. Is it possible to buy a square in someone else’s name (i.e. I provide the payment but his name appears on the square)?
2. Is it possible to get a certificate that I could take and present to him when I visit?

If anyone can help me with answers or point me in the right direction, I’d be very grateful grin

Yes you can make dedications on the squares that appear on the website and I’m sure that a certificate can be organised in his name. It may be best to ring Karen McKenna at the Museum and order over the phone to ensure the certificate is filled out how you want it - 01932 857381.
