The BTM chairman and vice chairman paid Stirling a visit in Hospital at the weekend and can report that he is prgoressing nicely. The BTM sent him a Get Well card on behalf of the committee and the Members.
The Chairman reports that
“He was very touched and thanks you all.
He looked well and is positive about a full recovery.
He plans, possibly optimistically, to leave hospital in the next week or so and resume all his plans by May.
He will be at our annual dinner in November.
He said it was the seventh time he has had during his life, to make use of a wheelchair, but thankfully after the last accident, he did not sell it!
As usual with Stirling, the jokes flowed. It was a good sign! “
This was a nasty fall and Professor Sid Watkins has stated that anyone over the age of 50 could be expected not to survive such a fall but Stirling has proved yet again that he is made of different stuff than the rest of us !
