The link below takes you to a BBC report of BTM President Sir Stirling Moss accidentally falling three floors when his lift door at home opened inadvertently. He suffered several broken bones in the accident and is recovering in a London Hospital.

I’m sure you’ll join me and the BTM committee in wishing him a speedy recovery

Let’s hope the Boy Wonder is up and about soon.

The BTM chairman and vice chairman paid Stirling a visit in Hospital at the weekend and can report that he is prgoressing nicely. The BTM sent him a Get Well card on behalf of the committee and the Members.

The Chairman reports that

“He was very touched and thanks you all.
He looked well and is positive about a full recovery.
He plans, possibly optimistically, to leave hospital in the next week or so and resume all his plans by May.
He will be at our annual dinner in November.
He said it was the seventh time he has had during his life, to make use of a wheelchair, but thankfully after the last accident, he did not sell it!
As usual with Stirling, the jokes flowed. It was a good sign! “

This was a nasty fall and Professor Sid Watkins has stated that anyone over the age of 50 could be expected not to survive such a fall but Stirling has proved yet again that he is made of different stuff than the rest of us !

Just a quick update.

Our vice chairman visited Sir Stirling last week. He’s back at home and the plaster has been taken off his ankles and he can now wiggle his toes !

I’m quite sure that with his remarkable resilience he’ll be up and about again in no time !
