Further to my earlier email, more information can be found at http://www.weea-organisation.com/
Clicking on the Union Jack gives details in English, although the accompanying sound track is still in French!
Reims Circuit Weekend, September 10/11/12

I will be attending again this year, if any BTM members are interested please get in touch, either via the forum or directly to me (neilhbailey at gmail dot com). It is a reasonably priced event, and I am keen to foster a good rapport between the BTM and the Reims equivalent organisation (http://www.amis-du-circuit-de-gueux.fr/Historic-of-Circuit-Reims-Gueux).
In addition to the weekend events at the circuit, there is an excellent dinner in the Reims Champagne Cellars, that I may be able to get discounted tickets for.

Grand Prix exhibition - Jackson Shed.

Well, further to my earlier posting, I now see that we do have a racing car from the 1960’s; The Assegai owned (I think) by John Ferris. In my opinion it should be placed after the 1950’s cars and before the Marlboro McLaren. I believe there should be a distinct timeline to the exhibits we have.

Any comments?

Re the GP exhibition.

I’d like to make the following observations and suggestions:-

I think we have the makings of a good exhibition. The Lorraine-Dietrich(when ready),the Razorblade, the Vauxhall, the Halford Special (hopefully it will return) and the Duesenberg make a very good start to a Grand Prix racing timeline along with the Brooklands Riley. We have examples from the 50’s being the H.A.R and the Alvis. But then there’s a jump to the 1970 McLaren M14 (the orange one). We don’t have anything from the 60’s like a Lotus, BRM or Cooper. These cars exist and I think it would be great to have such a car of that era. It would complete the exhibition. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone who owns such a car but my understanding is that we have relationship with the Donington Museum. I’m pretty sure they have something representative of the 60’s. Can they be approached and asked if we might borrow one of theirs?

Any comments?
