What do you think of F1 moving to Sky ? The BBC will be showing a selection of races including the BGP and Monaco but I reckon a lot of fans will resent paying extra to watch it on Sky.

Whilst volunteering in the Jackson Shed on Saturday I saw the Vanwall trophies. For a very long time I stood there a-gape. When it finally sunk in as to what I was looking at I was reeling, stunned, gobsmacked, left speechless to see this incredible treasure trove from the great days of British motor racing. Chaps, do you know what you’ve got? The history of Vanwall and the history British motor racing encapsulated in that cabinet is incredible. Tempted as I am to reach for my copy of “Vanwall” by Denis Jenkinson and Cyril Posthumus and type out the winner of each trophy and when and where, I won’t but…...............there’s even the trophy won by Stirling Moss at Pescara in 1957 and the trophy won by Tony Brooks at Spa in 1958. OK, you probably think I’m nuts and a sad old anorak but blimey, when I see the trophy won by Moss and Brooks at Aintree in 1957, I feel humble.

If I close my eyes I can visualise a Vanwall in the Jackson shed resplendent in BRG. Go on, I dare you to phone up the Donington Museum and ask them if they’ll let us have one of their Vanwalls for a couple of months. Just imagine…........

OK all, why do many Brooklands cars and motorcycles have fish-tail exhausts? Most of the bikes in the Campbell have, the Napier-Railton has…..

A visitor asked me this today and, I ashamed to say, I didn’t know.

If anyone can tell me, I’d appreciate it.

Well what do we think ?

Driving for Mercedes/Brawn with NIco Rosberg - we’ll have a plethora of F1 stars visiting next door in 2010 I suspect.

Mind you I raced against Rosberg on the Silverstone circuit myself last year ..........albeit in miniature on a Scalextric track !

He beat me but my colleague pipped him at the post and he didn’t like coming second !

Congratulations to Jenson Button for coming 5th in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix rising 9 places from his grid start.

Bigger congratulations for becoming F1 WORLD CHAMPION !!!!!

Also to Brawn GP for taking the manufacturers championship in their first year of racing - it even made Ross himself emotional on the BBC.

Brazil was also a great race itself with lots of incident and some brilliant overtaking by Jenson and also Hamilton who rose 14 places from 17th on the Grid to stand on the podium in 3rd position .

Well who’d have believed it ? Looks like Renault are guilty of race fixing and willing to risk human life to do so. With the news that Briatori and Symonds have both quit the team it seems to add wieght to Piquet’s claim that he was ordered to crash into a wall to allow Alonso the win at SIngapore.

The question is why on earth would Piquet risk his own life in this, I know Briatore is probably difficult to say no to but he is risking injury and possibly death to himself and others in this manic act.

It’s another dark day in what has become a very bad year for F1
