Well, further to my earlier posting, I now see that we do have a racing car from the 1960’s; The Assegai owned (I think) by John Ferris. In my opinion it should be placed after the 1950’s cars and before the Marlboro McLaren. I believe there should be a distinct timeline to the exhibits we have.

Any comments?

It’s not often that the hanger gets rearranged. So here’s a couple of shots of just that very thing happening today. The main points being that teh Harrier has now gone to the back where the Hurricane used to eb and the Hurricane moved to the front. The idea being to keep the aircraft that run near the doors so they can be moved outside and fired up on appropriate occasions.

1) Crossed Tail Planes
2) Shifting the Harrier
3) Wide open spaces - the hanger gets a good sweeping courtesy of Kai
4) An aircraft park outside the clubhouse
5) The Hurricane finally sees the light of day again

Well after nearly 25 years the 1912 Vieux Charles has burst into life again. It was towed around to the banking by the BA tug and then after several pushes by the tug it roared into lif. Sadly that was just after I had to leave so I missed the flames coming out of the exhaust and the clouds of smoke - by all accounts it was very dramatic !. Not too surprising for a 98 year old 15 litre car with just four cylinders. The pictures below show it being towed round to the banking and tthe first few attempts where it did attempt it did attempt to fire up in fits of spluttering.
