Jet Powered Members Day

MGF at October's Members Day
MGF at October's Members Day
Following on from a similar, but rather damp , event last October we are holding another of our Members Days. The format will be similar to last year offering the opportunity to try out the famous Brooklands Test Hill in your own vehicle. This will be open to all pre 1973 vehicles including motor cycles. Those post 1973 but deemed to be of a "classic" type or of particular interest to our Members can be entered but will be at the Museum's discretion.

The vehicle must be driven by the Member or their spouse/partner and the driver must hold an EU driving licence. Participating vehicles must be well maintained and have a valid V5, MOT and Insurance. Non road registered vehicles must hold appropriate public liability insurance.

The runs will take place from 10am to midday. We are hoping the weather will be better than last year as it needs to be fine for the Hill to be used. Depending on time we anticiatpate that all entrants will be able to makle two or three ascents each.

The maximum weight for vehicles making the ascent is 2 tons and must have at least a 6 inch ground clearance (including exhaust). The ascents will be entirely at your own risk.

Pre booked cars only for the Test Hill session.    To apply simply e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or phone 07880 670359  stating your name , make, model, year and registration of the vehicle.  A small charge of just £4 per vehicle will be made which is payable on the day.

All persons wishing to take part in the Test Hill runs MUST attend a briefing at 0945am at the beginning of the event. Entry to the Museum via the Campbhell gate.

"An Evening of Summer Entertainment"

The pre war "Right Crowd" would often bring picnics to Brooklands to enjoy the summer sunshine and a days motor racing at the circuit.

You can now re live those days by joining us at the Museum for an evening of entertainment featuring classic and vintage cars, a jazz band and evening barbecue. Bring you own picnic to enjoy on the grass in the paddock, the Campbnell Lawn or on Members Hill itself.

Come along in vintage costume and help to create the atmosphere yourself.

Further details and booking form will be online soon.
